Abstract:
In this paper I am going to analyze how interactivity can be applied to performing arts in order to influence the perception of the viewer. I will also study particular examples of how interaction design is used as a narrative tool and go through historical references and records of early interactive and environmental theatre concepts.
The main goal of this research is to study the relationship between the human and the technology, figuring out the possible patterns of their interaction and mutual creative activity. In the case study I put a huge emphasis on virtual and augmented reality, since these technologies are now widely used in performing and visual arts and also have a great potential for further development.
