‘Print versus Digital’

Abstract

While many people have their preferences expanded into an advanced digital technology, some still continue to prefer traditional print. This study presents a background of a digital era, how it migrated from print and became such a significant element of a publication sector. Moreover, the study analyzes the values of print magazines and describes expectations and challenges on the digital magazines. The approach consists of literature study and interview-based analysis of readers and professionals’ points of view. Certain conclusions are drawn from the study; it shows that many qualities of print medium are difficult to translate into a digital format. That should be considered while developing digital forms of reading. At last, it describes implications of each factor discussed earlier on the development of digital publications and focus on readability of both.
