“The Memory Palace-The development of memory and creativity”

Abstract

Memory Palace is considered one of the most effective whilst still being the least popular methods of memorizing information. Developing the Memory Palace increases the level of creativity and memory which are both necessary when it comes to the study of humans and understanding our development. Research reported in this paper conducted by scientists, as well as myself, proves that the aforementioned method can be an object of a serious study. For better understanding, a description of Mnemonic Techniques will introduce the reader to the system of groups where memorizing techniques such as Memory Palace are included. Later on, delving into the subject, the reader will get to know theories on creativity and spatial imagination, which are the foundations of developing the Memory Palace. After acknowledging the basics of the possibilities of our brains, the reader is introduced to the history of Memory Palace, which already creates a cloudy vision of the method. In the last chapter, my own experiments and studies on the subject transform into the description of Memory Palace, and indicate the value of familiarity when using the system for improving our memory skills; and additionally for imagery and alertness in everyday life.
