Over the past decades, people have affirmed musical influence on the human emotional system. Nowadays, it is often said that music used in film, enhances the level of emotional reactions. This writing reviews the neurological and psychological reasons of the impact of film music on human emotions. First, the paper explains the factual fundaments of film music and emotions, and later combines these findings in a thorough analysis of The Lion King. It commences with a definition and explanation of neurological and psychological occurrences in a human body in relation to music, then continues onto the trends and patterns of audiovisual impacts on emotions, and lastly combines the two fields in the analysis. The analysis is conducted through psychological aspects such as categorization, memory or predictability and applied to the scenes and scores of The Lion King. Apart from neurological evidence, this paper is also supported by psychological data such as surveys and statistics; hence the supporting evidence is not entirely objective. At the end of the research, the why and how aspects of film music are explored as highly significant in evoking emotional reactions.
