Integrating user centered design practices with agile software development methodologies

Abstract

Although in recent years, a growing support for introducing elements of user-centered design (UCD) practices into software development processes has been seen [1], both academic world and industry leaders still have not developed a standardized approach towards integrating UCD practices with well-known agile project management methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban. This paper reviews the existing literature in this area, proposes a software development process model that incorporates UCD practices, and evaluates implementation of this model in a software development company.
