dc.description.abstract | In the thesis on the topic “Cyborg bodies in digital space: How Arca’s artistic journey is drawing inspiration from Donna Haraway’s notion of the cyborg ”, I looked at the videos created by Venezuelan musician and multidisciplinary artist Arca in collaboration with Jesse Kanda, Carlos Saez, and Frederik Heyman through the prism of Donna Haraway's notion of the cyborg proposed in her infamous essay Cyborg Manifesto. As a result, I analysed Arca's videos throughout the years and found how audio-visual worlds created by her were constructed in order to explain Arca’s story of transitioning, exploring queer identity, body, sexuality and creating one’s identity in digital space, as well as how they are related and inspired by Haraway’s cyborg. | pl_PL |
