dc.description.abstract The research paper titled Turning Points of American Animation (1906 -1995) presents a summary, which suggests a unique perspective of various scenarios to help readers understand some major aspects of the history of American animation. The paper highlights the timeline and the general form of American animation, identifying significant trends in animation during the period of 1906-1995. The study includes the most important artists and companies of different eras, analysing social aspects and compelling contributions. The paper scrutinises the Golden Age, paying particular attention to Walt Disney’s and Warner Brothers’ contribution. The paper also analysis the renaissance of American animation, and how Saturday Morning Cartoons dominated American TVs causing the decline of theatrical shorts. Furthermore, the paper demonstrates how Pixar became a turning point in the animation industry by implementing computer animation and producing the first full-length computer-animated film, which dramatically diverted the animation industry from hand-drawn animation. Additionally, the paper identifies how this shift marks the obstacles that the artist had to face to bring animation to a new level in order to develop a computer-generated animation. pl_PL
