In today’s reality, video games take a significant part in people’s life. Computers become more powerful from year to year and more demanding and impressive games are created. Everything is done to satisfy gamers from all over the world and bring earnings to game creation companies and the game industry itself. Every year players strive to get a brand-new game with impressive gameplay and become a part of its world. To build, destroy, create, and expand their skills.
However, not all high-profile games are completely polished – that is impossible to find and fix all bugs when the game takes years to develop and launch in the market. Single not noticed mistake could cost thousands and thousands of dollars and lost players. On the other hand, another interesting bug could bring overwhelming popularity among the players and interest new gamers.
This thesis work represents the full process of game development with the usage of one of the most famous game engines – Unity Game Engine. The thesis work illustrates Unity 3D game development. For this reason, a game called AirLuft was created. It applies the feature the procedural map generation. To represent an endless runner game - a third-person point of view was selected. To make a camera feel pleasurable - a Cinemachine which is a camera control system made by Unity was used. To add the game more satisfying and science-fictional effect – a glow effect and skybox settings were applied.
In consequence, the author of this thesis work created a game that applies all of the mentioned above technologies and features. |
