This project showcases the process endured to create a 2D Text Adventure
game. As time goes on, games have been made, and the number of them has grown due
to the knowledge that developers have learnt on how to create them. In this document
the author also explains his journey and methods of how they had acquired knowledge to
then produce a game of their own. Learning about the ingredients of how different text
adventure games were made to work, what made it resonate with people is all a part of
the experience the Author undertook. It’s all broken down to show what elements makes
each creation of a game unique from others, as well as showing the evolution.
This project uses a method of collecting text input from a player via a keyboard. This is
the selected approach for a user of this game will have to interact with the system. It uses
data structures in combination with scriptable objects to set and change the game while
playing. Furthermore allowing a user of this game to utilize as much variety of language
that they may think of. This should build on the flexibility of the game to not just allow
the game to be set on fixated options. This can be further expanded upon depending on
an individuals usage of language. |
