What happens if you want to know more about users, but none of the methods you know
seems to cut it? - You simply invent a new one. This study aims to determine how the software
is capable of recognising human emotions and define areas, where such automated
recognition may become beneficial to marketing or customer experience researchers.
At first, the thesis introduces the basic theories of human emotions and describes the
state of art in the area of computational facial expression tracking. Following the theoretical
part, the study presents a user-centric design process to propose scope and features to be
implemented in the Proof of Concept tool.
A standalone web app is built to validate hypotheses that there are certain research
techniques where automated emotion recognition can be applied and deliver valuable
insights. The results point out the type of content that can be accurately tested with the
solution proposed. |
