Streszczenie:
The purpose of this paper is to identify and highlight the role of sound in particular aspects
of Wes Anderson’s selected features. A thorough analysis of the sound layer in Fantastic
Mr. Fox, Isle of Dogs, and The Darjeeling Limited shows the impact it has on the viewer’s
perception of the plot, characters, and the mood of particular scenes. By analyzing the
correlation between sound editing and mood changes, the dynamics of sound and action,
the rhythm, the soundtrack selection, and the location of sounds, the paper demonstrates
how the musical layer in the movies should be perceived as an important aspect of
moviemaking. Sound not only adds to the entertainment but it affects the subconscious
perception by the viewer, which leads to a deeper understanding of the filmmaker's (in this
case Wes Anderson’s) intended effect.
