All of these changes also lead to changes in form of monetization, which has become more complex. As we know, video games have an impact on the human psyche. Some games function to improve a person's knowledge about an aspect of the world or have a purely entertainment value. And some games have a significant influence on the gamer's psyche and make players, for example, addicted to the medium.
Usually, video game companies face a number of problems, one of them being how to correctly monetise their product to make it both profitable for company and gamers. There are cases when creators in this aspect have made mistakes that can destroy the credibility of the company. In turn, other simple decisions have helped to attract gamers to the product.
At the same time, we can say that we have some negative consequences of the monetisation approaches in modern games. As it is easy to spend time and money online, many people compare video games to drugs or gambling where, for instance, gamers spend money on the off chance of winning.
