The present thesis discusses a paradox concerning motorization in Poland. After World War II, Poland was a very poor and destroyed country. Despite that, factories were built and the motorization industry existed. But the profession of a car designer was only starting to develop, and there were no Polish car designers in Poland, so the cars that were produced in Poland were licensed car, i.e. Polish government was buying licences from Italians or Russians for already existing cars, and these cars were only produced in the Polish factories. Nowadays when there are no more factories in Poland, a lot of Poles are leaving the country to study car design and after that have to stay abroad if they want to work in their profession. |
