A Cross-Professional Design Process for the “Kroje” Typographic Conference.

Abstract

My master thesis is a kind of kind of guide through a profession of graphic designer written by a young female designer. It is a collection of experiences, thoughts and interviews creating a compendium of knowledge of what a contemporary designer profession really looks like. What are the conditions of this profession? How to achieve goals as a graphic designer operating on the market of large corporations? How to do it in a small team? Moreover, how other professional fields such as architecture, strategy, management, finances and others affect the end result and design decisions. Hence, my research question is how to survive as an ambitious young female graphic designer and how an interdisciplinary work context influences design and management process? Moreover, I want to prove how valuable learning from practice is.
