<description>Changes in the Ukrainian underground rave and techno culture since 1990
Makhrinska, Anastasiia
The following research paper aims to identify how the political situation in Ukraine influences its alternative art scene, such as raves and techno parties. By understanding the techno culture, the history behind the movement, its music, atmosphere, audience, and locations, the paper demonstrates why this underground culture should be perceived as an essential part of cultural life in Ukraine. Rave culture should not be seen only as an entertainment industry. Moreover, it is a representation of youth in Ukraine nowadays, which leads to a deeper understanding of everyday life in Ukraine and the formation of not only its art scene but cultural identity

<title>Junji Itō's graphic novel Uzumaki seen through a prism of Sigmund Freud's concept of death drive.</title>
<link>https://repin.pjwstk.edu.pl/xmlui/handle/186319/2600</link>
<description>Junji Itō's graphic novel Uzumaki seen through a prism of Sigmund Freud's concept of death drive.
Bugakova, Evelina
The concept of the death drive was introduced in 1920 by Sigmund Freud in Beyond the pleasure principle, which examined the organization of the human psyche. Subsequently, Jacques Lacan's interpretation of Freud’s theory of Thanatos and Eros functioning as a united entity is considered, i.e. in every case of the life drive we are dealing with the influence of the death drive as well.&#13;
This paper examines the abstract and surreal concept of the Spiral in the graphic novel Uzumaki by horror author Junji Itō. This element, as an omnipotent and inexplicable force, is investigated in the interpretation of the action of the death drive.

<title>Cyberpunk as a phenomenon of spiritual life</title>
<link>https://repin.pjwstk.edu.pl/xmlui/handle/186319/1876</link>
<description>Cyberpunk as a phenomenon of spiritual life
Avanesian, Nelli
It’s been decades since the ‘cyberpunk’ genre emerged, and the further it goes, the less futuristic&#13;
it has become. Technology that 10 years ago we knew about just from sci-fi movies and books&#13;
is now a reality. We go to work in the morning and charge our smartphones, tablets, headphones&#13;
and other electronics that have become an integral part of our lives. Tall skyscrapers increasingly&#13;
fill cities and corporations wage endless wars for power. It is almost impossible to meet a person&#13;
on the street without headphones or looking at a smartphone screen.&#13;
Has cyberpunk conceptually shaped the future that is coming?
