With the growing popularity of video games certain issues are created by them, and, more precisely, by the people designing them and the companies that produce them. The purpose of this study is to analyze some of these problems that directly relate between video games and gender roles, more specifically the over sexualized and stereotypical designs of females in games. This analysis is based on case studies of a variety of games, these being presented alongside my personal findings and examination of literature that concerns the topic. This analysis will point out the differences between a well-thought out and designed female character and ones that are merely created as ornaments. Throughout this dissertation, I will be pointing out the differences between protagonist females and supporting roles, and how there is not just a visual difference between the two. This analysis is to present, that female protagonists are more likely to have a strong and willful manner, while still lacking strength in visual depiction. Having female protagonists is still focused on objectified imagery of sexuality in the majority of productions. However, supporting female characters usually follow the trope of ‘damsel in distress’, normally having to be saved by the player. Some of them are wholly designed within the role of simply being there so the players can abuse them, others are there as a reward for players to collect. In the next part of my work I move onto an in-depth analysis of the industry ‘standards’, which disregard female characters and I argue that instead of conforming to these standards, designers could prevent the harrowing effects of these rules and expectations, not just in game but in real life. This leads me to a conclusion that these are simply archaic/outdated sentiments of a ‘women's role’ in video games. This is not only shown in games, but across most media, and, what is more, such harmful representations blur the lines between fantasy and reality. In the end, it is important to point out that having a female whose form also fits her intended purpose and role brings positivity to the games and players, as well as allowing female audience to be more involved in video game production.

Misiurewicz, Rozanna
The following work scrutinises contemporary minimalist design for the identification of a
public marathon race. This particular sporting event served as a basis for analysis because of
the special features of running activities today as much as their increasing popularity, common
character, importance for individuals and society, accessibility, and its relatively low
cost. At its outset the study will focus on defining the meaning of contemporary minimalism
by outlining a number of (historical) approaches within music, art, design, and architecture.
The philosophical influences of asceticism and the philosophy of simplicity will also be considered
in order to outline the concept of minimalism today. The subsequent section will
describe the current features of minimalism in art and living, focusing on activities such as
sport and travel. In addition, influences from other fields like music, art, design, philosophy
will also be explained. This component will serve to identify the principles of contemporary
minimalism that ought to be applied in the design process. Next, the research will describe a
design process for a fictitious edition of the Warsaw Marathon, where contemporary minimalist
features presented in the first part will be applied in the project. The conclusion will
review the issues presented at the beginning of the study, highlighting what has been achieved
in the project, as well as providing an answer to the meaningful use of minimalism in design
today.

Myszewska, Marta Zofia
When working on a project, we often pay attention to details. We focus on the small parts that they build general identification. It is not repeated, however, that some parts are in line. It often affects our well-being. Lie down, have the worst day. This is understandable, not only in the designer’s work but in which I can rotate. Through the prism of work, in the picture, they seem to be visible. Therefore, it is essential to take a whole step back and from the perspective, objectively look at the whole of the outlined design problem.
In my work, Women’s Rights are Human Rights I decided to analyze all my work, which spread over time for two years. The dissertation is my case study. Thanks to the analysis and survey with attention, every move and all decisions, I can finish the job thoroughly. The time that I spent on my observations was just long, through 6 months, which can already be imposed on deepening one’s projects.
As a graphic designer and organizer of events in the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, I would suggest each of the students or even proffesionals draw conclusions for the future. Self-analyze and a monologue in retrospect, which allows for very sharp self-criticism as well as objective tightening, scratching very well. For me personally, which I was not able to see during the intense work on the project. The knowledge about myself, which I discovered, gave me more confidence and self-decisiveness, which I did not have, at the time of work.

The topics of my thesis and practical project
are strictly connected. The practical part of my
Master diploma, was organising and creating
visual identity and a catalog for an international
poster exhibition called 100 × independence
in Poster Museum at Wilanów. The exhibition was
an international student project devoted to interpretation
of the word independence. This thesis
is divided into three parts.
In the first part I tried to create an introduction,
which could help people to understand what
influenced students’ interpretation and approach
towards the exhibition’s topic. For this reason this
part concerns language and visual language. In
the latter parts I describe my contribution to the
project and I describe my observations about the
works presented at the exhibition.
